Specialty amines

Specialty amines are varied multifunctional chemicals. Select amine products can help improve the functional properties of materials such as improving the readability for paper by helping decrease bleed and softening plastics for improved flexibility. Please see our list below and click on our brochure for more information.

Evonik has the manufacturing flexibility and expertise to make other specialty amines. If you do not see what you are looking for in this list, please contact us at cheminfo@airproducts.com.

1.8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU)

1,8-Diazabicyclo [5.4.0] undec-7-ene (DBU) is a clear, light yellow liquid of relatively low volatility and has only a slight ammonia-like odor. It is miscible with water and is soluble in common organic solvents.

2-Methylcyclohexylamine (2-MCHA)

2-Methylcyclohexylamine (2-MCHA) is a clear, colorless to straw-colored liquid amine. 2-MCHA is often used in the synthesis of agrochemicals.

Aminopropyldiethanolamine (APDEA)

Aminopropyldiethanolamine is a pale pink to light brown liquid. It is used in dye preparations and in the paint and coatings industry.

Bis(3-aminopropyl)-methylamine (BAPMA)

Bis(3-aminopropyl)-methylamine is a colorless to yellow liquid with a fish-like odor. BAPMA is used in the synthesis of other chemistries for pulp and paper applications.

Dicyclohexylamine (DCHA)

Dicyclohexylamine (DCHA) is a strongly basic, clear, colorless liquid amine. DCHA is readily soluble in common organic solvents, but is only slightly soluble in water. DCHA is commonly used in rubber processing but has a variety of applications.

Dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA)

Dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) is a moderately basic, colorless liquid. DMAPA is miscible with water and most common organic solvents. DMAPA is a versatile intermediate used in many applications, most notably betaine surfactant production.

N,N,N1,N1 Tetramethyl 1,3 propane diamine (TMPDA)

N,N,N1,N1 Tetramethyl 1,3 propane diamine is a colorless liquid. It is used for gas scrubbing as well as in the polyurethane market as a catalyst.

N,N-Diethylcyclohexylamine (DECHA)

Diethylcyclohexylamine, or DECHA, is a colorless to straw-yellow liquid. DECHA is often used for chain termination in polymer catalysis as well as pharmaceutical synthesis.

N,N-Dimethylcyclohexylamine (DMCHA)

Dimethylcyclohexylamine (DMCHA) is a strongly basic, clear, colorless-to-straw-colored liquid amine. It is often used in rubber processing as well as agrochemicals.

N-Ethyl-1,2-dimethylpropylamine (EDMPA)

N-Ethyl-1,2-dimethylpropylamine is a clear, colorless aliphatic secondary amine. It is used as an intermediate in agricultural and printing applications.
